General Advertising Code

Further to the provisions of Section 19 of the Broadcasting Act, 2001, the Commission has been directed to develop a general advertising code to replace the general provisions of the Ministerial Codes of Standards, Practices and prohibitions and Other Forms of Commercial Promotion in Broadcasting Services.

 

The General Advertising Code was launched on March 27th and came into effect on April 10th, 2007. The provisions contained in the General Advertising Code apply to all broadcasters licensed in the State; commercial, public service and community.
