Alex Pumfrey

Alex is Programme Director for Digital UK, the independent not-for-profit company established to manage the implementation of the UK’s digital television switchover. She is responsible for project delivery of the 72 switchovers that will take place across the UK between 2008 and 2012, working with Government, Ofcom and the Switchover Help Scheme. She oversees project management, research and tracking, and policy issues. She was previously Director of Strategy & Policy at Digital UK. Prior to joining Digital UK in 2005 Alex worked in Strategy at Channel 4 on issues including switchover and the impact of new digital technologies. Prior to that she worked for several years for a US telecoms and media strategy consultancy assisting major telecoms companies including AT&T, Bell Canada and BT in the development their television and new media strategies.
