Funding Initiatives
The Commission provides funding for a range of grant and award schemes which support and promote the growth and development of both stations and programming initiatives within the Irish broadcasting sector.
The Community Broadcasting Support Scheme has provided funding to community radio stations to undertake important evaluative work to help improve station performance and build capacity within the community radio sector as a whole. In 2009, the Scheme was extended to include applications from licensed community television stations to support their development. You will find more information on this scheme here.
The New Adventures in Broadcasting Scheme has been providing funding for new and innovative radio programming since 1996.
