Networks
The BCI provides funding and support to a number of industry networks to operate training and development activities for their members. The networks that receive funding are listed below.
CRAOL was established to provide information and development opportunities for community radio stations. The network comprises a membership of around twenty community radio stations. CRAOL provides a helpline and assistance programme and organises training and networking events for its members. The BCI provide funding and support for CRAOL’s training and development activities.

Learning Waves is a network member organisation representing the independent commercial radio stations in Ireland. The network was formed in 2004 and has been successful in receiving funding from Skillnets. The network is currently made up of 28 independent radio stations, the BCI, Independent Network News (INN) and Independent Radio Sales (IRS). The BCI is a member of the Board and provides support to Learning Waves on an ongoing basis.
Learning Waves offers a broad range of training courses and workshops in a variety of areas such as general management and administration, sales, programming and news.

AIRPI was established in 2006 to promote the development of independent radio production in Ireland. The BCI provides funding for AIRPI’s training and development initiatives which include training seminars and masterclasses.

SPI represents around 200 production companies and aims to represent their interests and promote the development of film and television production in Ireland. The BCI provides funding for training events for members.

The BCI also provides support and funding to the Irish Hospital Radio Network. The network represents that the hospital radio stations licensed by the BCI.
