BCI Radio Licensing - Community Radio - Guide to Submissions

Background:

As part of the licensing process under the Radio and Television Act, 1988, the Commission must specify the procedure to be followed in order to make an application. This has meant that the Commission has operated a practice of preparing Guides to Submissions for each application process.

The Guide includes information on the following:

  • the criteria used by the Commission in the assessment of applications,
  • guidelines and procedures for the submission of applications,
  • a suggested format for the application including an outline of how the content should be structured and the type of material to be included,
  • the procedures to be adopted by the commission in its decision-making.

A number of appendices are also included which set out the Commission’s Ownership and Control Policy and technical information.

The Commission will begin the process of advertising for community / community of interest services in October 2005. All guiides to submissions for these services will be available on this page.
