BCI SIGNS TELEVISION CONTENT CONTRACTS WITH CITY CHANNEL


The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) has today (Tuesday, September 26th) announced the signing of two ten year broadcasting contracts with City Channel Limited for the provision of television services in Galway and Waterfordand the South East Region.

 

Both services will exclusively target audiences in their respective broadcast areas. The services will feature a variety of lifestyle and information programmes on subjects of interest to audiences in Galway and Waterford and the South East Region.  The channels will also feature networked programming.  Both City Channel services will broadcast 24 hours a day and will be available to all digital MMDS and cable customers in the specified areas.


Commenting on the signing, Conor J. Maguire, Chairperson of the BCI said: “We are delighted to sign these contracts with City Channel which provide new services to audiences in Galway, Waterford and the South-East Region.  We wish City Channel continued success with their service delivery.” 


City Channel was represented at the signings by David Harvey, Chief Executive Officer and Michael Pilsworth, Director.  Conor J. Maguire, Chairperson and Celene Craig, Secretary to the Board of the BCI, signed on behalf of the Commission.
