BCI INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR NEW NORTH EAST
REGIONAL RADIO SERVICE
The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) has today (Friday 29th September) placed an advertisement in the national press seeking applications from interested persons/parties for the provision of a youth based regional service in the Midlands/North East region. This service will cover the Counties of Louth, Meath, Cavan, Monaghan, Kildare, North–East Laois, Offaly and Westmeath.
The service being advertised will provide a mix of music and speech programming of particular relevance to listeners in the 15-34 year age group in this region.
Information in respect of the proposed new service should be presented in the format prescribed in the BCI’s Guide to Submissions for the Provision of a Regional Sound Broadcasting Service, September 2006. The closing date for receipt of applications is 12 noon on Friday, 24th November 2006. After consideration by the Commission, all expressions of interest received will be made publicly available from Friday, 8th December. They may be viewed at the BCI’s headquarters by appointment, on its website and in Meath County Library, Railway Street, Navan, Co. Meath.
