BCI ANNOUNCES SHORTLIST FOR MIDLANDS/NORTH EAST
ORAL HEARINGS
The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) has today (19th February 2007) announced details regarding the consideration of applications for the Midlands/North East regional radio service, aimed at 15-34 year olds.
At a meeting of the board of the BCI earlier today, members considered the 5 applications received for the youth service in the Midlands/North East. The Commission deemed that three applications were considered to be of sufficient standard to qualify for the second phase in the licensing process. These are:

The second phase in the licensing process involves a public hearing which will take place on Monday 16th April in the Tullamore Court Hotel, Tullamore, Co. Offaly. Each applicant will make a presentation followed by a question and answer session with the Board of the Commission.
It is anticipated that a decision on the award of the licence will be taken at the May meeting of the BCI board.
