BCI SIGNS CONTRACT WITH DIGITAL RADIO LIMITED
The BCI has today (Wednesday 20th June) announced the signing of ten year contracts with Digital Radio Limited for the provision of two digital radio services as follows:
- All 80’s Digital Radio – (Music from the 80’s for the 35 – 55 audience bracket)
- Mocha – Smooth Hits with a Kick – (Laid back alternative to current Irish youth Radio 15-34 year olds)
The service will be broadcast on cable and MMD systems serving specific niche audiences.
Speaking in relation to the announcement, Conor J. Maguire, BCI Chairperson said, “I would like to congratulate Digital Radio Limited on their contract signing and to wish them every success over the next ten years. These are the first digital radio services licensed under the Broadcasting Act 2001, thereby adding to the diversity of services available to viewers and listeners in Ireland”.
Digital Radio Limited was represented at the contract signing by Dusty Rhodes, Managing Director and Mrs, Roisin Nolan, Director. Conor Maguire, Chairperson and Celene Craig, Secretary, signed on behalf of the Commission.
