BCI RECEIVES FIVE APPLICATIONS FOR NEW
MULTI CITY AND COUNTY BROADCASTING SERVICE

 

The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) has today (June 22nd) announced the receipt of five applications for  the provision of a multi-city sound broadcasting service on the FM band for the areas of Dublin City and County and commuter belt, Cork City and County, Limerick City and County, Co. Clare and Galway City and County.

All applications submitted to the BCI will be made available for public inspection from Friday 6th July next. From that date, they can be viewed on-line www.bci.ie  or by appointment through the Commission’s offices at 2-5 Warrington Place, Dublin 2. Alternatively, applications may be viewed at Dublin Central Library, Ilac Centre, Henry Street, Dublin 1.  


It is anticipated that the first phase of consideration of the applications, by the Board of the BCI, will take place in Autumn 2007.
