BCI INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR COMMUNITY
SOUND BROADCASTING SERVICE
The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) has today (Friday 29th June) placed an advertisement in the national and local press seeking applications from interested persons/parties for the provision of a community sound broadcasting service in South West Tipperary. This service will cover Tipperary and Cashel Towns and their environs.
The service being advertised is intended to provide a combination of speech and music programming of particular relevance to listeners in this geographic area.
Information in respect of the proposed new service should be presented in the format prescribed in the BCI’s Guide to Submissions: Community Sound Broadcasting Service on the FM Band; June 2007. The Guide is available on the BCI website, www.bci.ie or on request from the Offices of the Commission; email: info@bci.ie or call 01 644 1200.
The closing date for receipt of applications is 12 noon on Friday, 21st September 2007. After consideration by the Commission, all expressions of interest received will be made publicly available from Friday, 5th October 2007. They may be viewed at the BCI’s headquarters by appointment, on its website and in Tipperary County Library, Dan Breen House, Davis Street, Tipperary Town and also Cashel Library, Friar Street, Cashel, Co. Tipperary.
