BCI SIGNS SOUND BROADCASTING CONTRACT WITH SPIN SOUTH WEST
The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) today (June 29th) signed a ten year sound broadcasting contract with SPIN South West Limited (Trading as SPIN South West), to provide a regional sound broadcasting service to the South West of Ireland (counties of Kerry, Limerick, Clare, North Tipperary and South-West Laois.
SPIN South West will operate a mix of speech and music programming targeting 15-34 year olds in the region including a range of news and sports coverage as part of its programme output. The station will also provide a number of specialist shows focusing on music genres, primarily dance and urban.
Commenting on the signing, Conor J. Maguire, BCI Chairperson, said "We are delighted to conclude contract negotiations and to sign this 10 year contract with SPIN South West Limited. The station will add to the diversity of services available in the South West Region and will provide a greater choice for the 15-34 year old audience. We wish Spin South West every success in the years ahead."
SPIN South West was represented at the signing by Liam O’ Shea, Chairperson and Gerry Kennelly, Director of the station. Conor Maguire, Chairperson, and Michael O’Keeffe, Chief Executive, signed on behalf of the BCI.
