BCI ANNOUNCES SHORTLIST FOR MULTI -CITY
ORAL HEARINGS
The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) yesterday (8th October) considered the five applications received for a new Classic Gold/Easy Listening/Smooth multi-city service on the FM band. The proposed service will be broadcast in the areas of Dublin City, County and commuter belt, Cork City and County, Limerick City and County, Co. Clare and Galway City and County.
Members of the Board considered the applications received and deemed two to be of a sufficient standard to qualify for the second phase in the licensing process. These are:

The second phase in the licensing process involves a public hearing which will take place on Monday 17th December in the Conrad Hotel, Dublin. Each applicant will make a presentation followed by a question and answer session with the Board of the Commission.
It is anticipated that a decision on the award of the licence will be taken at the January meeting of the BCI board.
