BCI ANNOUNCES DETAILS OF FIFTH FUNDING ROUND OF
'SOUND & VISION' FOR TELEVISION
The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) has today announced details of the fifth funding round of Sound & Vision, the Broadcasting Funding Scheme, for television. An advertisement in today’s national press will invite applications from programme makers for funding for new television programmes dealing with the themes of Irish culture, heritage and experience. The Sound & Vision scheme also provides funding for new programmes aimed at improving adult literacy.
The previous four rounds of Sound & Vision have seen the allocation of a cumulative total of over €40m for television since the scheme’s inception in October 2005. Through this funding, 175 new television programmes in a variety of genres have received support.
Application forms for the current round for television can be downloaded from the BCI website www.bci.ie, or are available by e-mail from sound&vision@bci.ie
The closing date for receipt of applications is 12.00 noon on Wednesday 28th November next.
