BCI launches final round of community radio support scheme

The BCI has today (20th May 2005) announced the launch of the final round of Strand A of the 2004/2005 Community Radio Support Scheme. The scheme provides community radio stations with funding for their training and development requirements.
This round is focused on individual station development. The stations can apply for funding for internal and external evaluation and development initiatives. Internal evaluation focuses on organisation development and external funding enables stations to evaluate their relationship with their community. The budget available for this round is €25,000.
Commenting on the announcement, Michael O´Keeffe, Chief Executive, said: "We are pleased to continue with this support scheme for the sector and we are confident that it will contribute to the further development of these services. I would encourage all stations to avail of these bursaries, ensuring the continued success of community radio in Ireland."
The deadline for receipt of applications for this round of funding is 5pm on Monday 20th June 2005.
