JNLR interim survey results released today (JNLR/TNS MRBI October 2004-March 2005)

Interim radio listenership figures for the survey period October 2004 to March 2005 were released today (Tuesday May 10th). This latest JNLR/ TNS mrbi report registers listenership to any local, regional or national radio service at 85% (-2).

The figures presented in the survey are matched against comparable figures for the survey period October 2003-March 2004 and are summarised below.

National
The listenership figure for any regional/local station was 55% (-1). Listened yesterday figures for RTÉ Radio 1 remained unchanged at 26% while RTÉ 2FM recorded a figure of 22% (-2). Today FM´s listened yesterday figure increased to 15% (+2), with RTÉ Lyric FM achieving a figure of 3% (same).

National (excluding Dublin and Cork)-local stations
Galway Bay FM and WLR FM achieved reach figures of 50% (-2) and 47% (-7) respectively. Limerick´s Live 95FM remained unchanged at 56% while Midlands 103 increased their listenership to 43% (+8). The remaining local stations did not have sufficient sample bases to receive reach figures for the period.

Regional - South East
BEAT 102-103 FM achieved a listened yesterday figure of 18% (+1) for this period.

Dublin-local stations
FM104´s listened yesterday figure remained unchanged at 20%, while 98FM achieved a figure of 17% (-3). Q102´s and Newstalk´s figures remained unchanged at 12% and 5% respectively. Spin 1038 recorded an increase of 5 percentage points to achieve a figure of 10%, while Dublin´s Country 106.8 achieved a listened yesterday figure of 4% (+1).

Cork-local stations
Cork 96FM/County Sound achieved a listened yesterday figure of 47% (-2) while Red FM recorded a reach of 15% (-2).
