BCI ANNOUNCES DETAILS OF SEVENTH FUNDING ROUND OF
'SOUND & VISION' FOR TELEVISION
The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) today (18th December) announced details of the seventh funding round of Sound & Vision, the Broadcasting Funding Scheme, for television.
Applications are now invited from programme makers for funding for new television programmes dealing with the themes of Irish culture, heritage and experience. The Sound & Vision scheme also provides funding for new programmes aimed at improving adult literacy.
The previous six rounds of Sound & Vision have allocated a cumulative total of over €45m for television since the scheme’s inception. Through this funding, 225 new television programmes in a variety of genres have received support.
Application forms for the current round for television can be downloaded from the BCI website www.bci.ie, or are available by e-mail from sound&vision@bci.ie. The closing date for receipt of applications is 12.00 noon on Monday, February 16th next.
