BCI INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR COMMUNITY
SOUND BROADCASTING SERVICES
The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) has today, (Tuesday 12th May) placed an advertisement in the national and local press seeking applications from interested persons/parties for the provision of community sound broadcasting services in the following areas:
The services being advertised are intended to provide a combination of speech and music programming of particular relevance to listeners in these specified geographic areas.
Applicants are asked to provide information in the format set out in the BCI’s Guide to Submissions: Community Sound Broadcasting Service on the FM Band; ( Phase 1)May 2009. The Guide is available on the BCI website, www.bci.ie or on request from the Commission’s office: info@bci.ie or 01 644 1200.
The closing date for receipt of applications is 12 noon on Wednesday, 24th June 2009. After initial consideration by the Commission, all applications received will be made publicly available from Wednesday, 8th July 2009. They may be viewed at the BCI’s office by appointment, on its website www.bci.ie, and in a public library in the relevant geographic area to be served.
