BROADCASTING COMMISSION OF IRELAND APPOINTS

DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE SERVICES

The Broadcasting Commission Ireland is pleased to announce the appointment of Margaret Tumelty to the position of Director of Corporate Services of the BCI. Margaret will have responsibility for finance, human resources and organisation, IT, information and public relations for the Commission. 

 

Margaret has worked with the Commission since 2000, initially as Manager of Training and Development, then as Broadcasting Standards Officer with responsibility for the development of a range of broadcasting codes and rules, including the Children’s Advertising Code and the Access Rules for television. Prior to joining the Commission, Margaret worked in the community radio sector and with Women on Air.

 

Margaret is a graduate of Dublin City University where she received a BA in Communication Studies. She holds an MSc (Mgmt ) in Organisational Behaviour and a Post Graduate Diploma in Conflict and Dispute Resolution from Trinity College , Dublin .

 

Speaking about the appointment, Michael O’Keeffe, Chief Executive of the BCI said, “The Commission is delighted to announce the appointment of Margaret as Director of Corporate Services. During her time with the BCI she has made an invaluable contribution to the organisation, especially in the development of the Commission’s broadcasting codes. I wish her the very best in her new role.”
