BCI ADVERTISES LOCAL RADIO LICENCE

The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland have today (Tuesday, 23rd May 2006) placed advertisements in the national and local press seeking applications from interested persons / parties in providing a commercial local radio service in the following franchise area:
Limerick City and County
A broad-format sound broadcasting service
In order to assist prospective applicants in the drafting of their applications, the BCI’s Guide to Submissions is available at its offices, Warrington Place, Dublin 2, on its website, or on request from the BCI offices (email: info@bci.ie or call 01 6441200).
The service will have a broad-format and provide a mix of speech and music programming with a strong emphasis on news and current affairs. Programme content should be of particular relevance to the general audience in the Limerick City and County area.
The closing date for receipt of applications is Wednesday 19th July 2006. After consideration by the Commission, all applications will be made publicly available.
