BCI RECEIVES TWO APPLICATIONS FOR
LIMERICK CITY AND COUNTY FRANCHISE

The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) today (July 20th) announced the receipt of two applications for the Limerick City and County service. The applications were received in response to advertisements which were placed in the national press on May 23rd last. The licence for the franchise area is currently held by Limerick ’s Live 95FM.
The proposed station names and contact details for each of the applicant groups are listed below.

Al l applications submitted to the BCI will be made available for public inspection from Monday 31st July next. From that date, they can be viewed on-line at www.bci.ie or by appointment through the Commission’s offices at 2-5 Warrington Place . Al ternatively, applications may be viewed at the City Library, Michael Street , Limerick .
It is anticipated that the first phase of consideration of the applications, by the Board of the BCI, will take place at their meeting on October 9th.
