BCI ANNOUNCES COMMUNITY RADIO LICENSING DECISIONS

The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) has today (21 st July 2006) announced the following radio licensing decisions in relation to community radio sound broadcasting service.
At its board meeting of 17 th July, the Commission has decided to invite Community Radio Youghal and Raidió na Life to attend a private oral hearing with the Commission’s Executive. These will take place in September.
Commenting on the board decision, Conor J Maguire, Chairperson of the BCI said “We believe both applications are considered to be of sufficient standard to qualify for the second phase in the licensing process. A report on the oral hearing will be considered by the Board in the autumn.”
