9 APPLICATIONS RECEIVED FOR
MULTIPLEX PROGRAMME CONTENT MANAGERS

The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) and the Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources (DCMNR) have today (Thursday, August 10th) announced the receipt of nine applications for Multiplex (Mux) Programme Content Managers as part of the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) Trial.
The trial, which is set to run for two years, will provide insight into the issues associated with the roll-out of a national DTT system and the potential impact on the current analogue television network.

A working group involving representatives of the Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources and the BCI will now assess all applications received. It is expected that a decision on the outcome of this process will be announced in October.
