BROADCASTING COMMISSION OF IRELAND SIGNS CONTRACT WITH CLAREMORRIS COMMUNITY RADIO

The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) has today (September 1st) announced the signing of a ten-year community sound broadcasting contract with Claremorris Community Radio Limited for the provision of a community sound broadcasting service on the FM band. The station will be broadcast on 94.6FM and will serve Claremorris town and environs.
Claremorris Community Radio will broadcast a mix of live and repeat programming from 11 a.m to 9 p.m on Saturdays and Sundays initially. The station aims to promote community development in the greater Claremorris area and to provide the people of the area with a radio service dedicated to their needs. The station will broadcast 60% music and 40% speech with a mix of news and current affairs, sport and special interest programming.
John Waters, Board Member of the BCI, said: “I would like to congratulate Claremorris Community Radio on today’s contract signing and to wish them every success over the next ten years. I am confident that this service will add to the sense of community in Claremorris and we wish the station every success in the years ahead”.
Claremorris Community Radio was represented at the signing by Directors Anne Joyce and Martin Murphy. John Waters, Board Member and Celene Craig, Secretary to the BCI Board, signed on behalf of the BCI.
